Eventing Dreams

I would love to event.  I rode at a local stable and did novice event training.  I never had the oppurtunity to own and event horse or show.  And I had a fear of the cross country portion.  But since my confidence has gone up and up, and I would love to get back out there.  I was hoping Ink (my ottb) would be my event horse, but I am not sure.  He is lame now and even if he is sound, he might not be able to jump.  At his own will he has jumoed.  One afternoon I had both Errika and Ink in the arena and was free-lunging them.  I had a small verticle set up for Errika to go over, but Ink decided he wanted to take a go at it.  It was like he had been doing it for years!  He would probably make a good hunter, but I doubt I will ever be into that spectrum of the horse world. 

Where is my riding going to take me?  That I am not sure of.  Many of the girls I used to ride with in lessons are competing and have gone through their horses.  I wish I could be out there with them, as I know I rode just as well as those people.  But who’s to say now.  I should’ve stayed in my lessons.  It’s a mistake I have learned from.
